Deepak Pateriya serves as Senior Vice President at the Freedom Together Foundation and its 501(c)(4) affiliate, the Movement Action Fund, where he leads the foundation’s program strategy and grantmaking. Freedom Together and the Movement Action Fund support building community and worker power to advance a multiracial democracy and just economy. Before moving into philanthropy in early 2024, Deepak spent more than thirty years as an organizer, campaigner, and alliance builder in community organizing and the labor movement. He worked with SEIU for many years organizing property service workers at then–Local 1877 and contributing to the SEIU Capital Stewardship team. He also spent several years in the National Organizing Department at UFCW organizing with Walmart and other grocery workers. Most recently, Deepak served for nearly a decade as Chief of Staff at Community Change.
